Welcome to Appleby Custom Knives.
Hi my name is Bob Appleby, I am a
Self Taught, part time knife maker. I
Started out forging ornamental
Ironwork, I made my first knife in 1995
from a railroad spike and have been
making knives ever since. I make both
fixed and folding knives, and practice
both hand forging and stock removal I
use high carbon steels such as O-1,
1084, 1095, 5160, 440C SS and
commercial Damascus. I use a wide
variety of handle materials both
natural and synthetic. I also do
decorative file work and photo
etching. I make my own leather and
kydex sheaths. I use no prefabricated
materials, all phases of construction
and production are preformed by me,
including heat treatment. I am happy
to take orders and will try to meet
your requirements to the best of my
ability.
